Grin Technologies Rear Torque Arm V5 – Durable & Flexible Motor Protection. The V5 Torque Arm by Grin Technologies offers industry-leading strength and adaptability for securing both front and rear hub motors where the bike frame has threaded inserts available for pannier racks. Its innovative design includes a hardened stainless steel insert with a toothed (splined) interface, allowing for 50 possible rotational positions. This flexibility means you can easily align the torque arm to fit almost any bike frame geometry. This is to prevent ‘spinout’ of the axle due to high values of torque present at the axle on higher-powered hub motors. 250W motors are unlikely to need such a device, but it is recommended where the dropouts of the bike are less secure or the nut of the axle is not 100% in contact with the frame. We certainly recommend a torque arm on the higher-powered motors that we sell. We would recommend this torque arm for our 500W motors and 250W motors where required.  Specifications The V5 Torque Arm uses a separate hardened metal insert with a toothed interface, allowing for flexible positioning in both front and rear motor installations. It anchors to the bike frame via the threaded inserts near the dropouts usually reserved for pannier or rack mounting. The torque arm features a swiveling frame bracket to accommodate almost any bike geometry. The hardened 17-4 stainless insert can be rotated in 50 different positions and provides 80% more spinout strength than conventional torque arms.  This torque arm works for almost all 12, 14mm or 16mm axle hub motor needs.
